1. Purpose
This policy outlines the care and maintenance requirements for vinyl wraps installed by Vinylize Wraps to maximize appearance, longevity, and eligibility under the Warranty Policy.
2. Plain-English Summary
Proper maintenance extends the life of your wrap, preserves its appearance, and helps maintain workmanship warranty eligibility.
3. Official Policy
3.1 Initial Cure Period
Do not wash the vehicle for the first seven (7) days after installation unless otherwise instructed.
3.2 Washing
Hand washing with pH-neutral automotive soap is recommended. Avoid washing in direct, hot sunlight. Dry the vehicle immediately after rinsing using a clean microfiber drying towel to help prevent mineral water spotting.
3.3 Pressure Washing
If pressure washing is necessary, maintain at least 12 inches (30 cm) from the surface, keep pressure below 2,000 PSI, use a wide spray pattern, and never spray directly at wrap edges or seams.
3.4 Automatic Car Washes & Winter Care
Brush-style automatic car washes are not recommended. Touchless automatic washes may be used occasionally, but the highly acidic or alkaline chemicals used by some systems may accelerate vinyl aging over time.
Snow and Ice Removal: Never use plastic ice scrapers, hard snow shovels, or stiff-bristled brushes directly on wrapped surfaces. Use a soft cloth or silicone squeegee to remove loose snow.
3.5 Environmental Contaminants
Remove bird droppings, bugs, tree sap, fuel spills, road salt, and similar contaminants as soon as reasonably possible.
Fuel Spills: If fuel contacts the wrap during refueling, immediately wipe the area with a damp microfiber cloth or rinse with clean water. Do not allow fuel to remain on or dry onto the vinyl.
3.6 Polishes, Waxes & Chemicals
Do not use abrasive compounds or petroleum-based solvents. Only products specifically designed for vinyl wraps should be used.
Specialty Finishes: Matte and satin wraps must never be polished, buffed, or treated with conventional waxes. These products can permanently create glossing, streaking, and uneven finish appearance.
3.7 Inspection
Inspect the wrap periodically and report suspected workmanship concerns promptly in accordance with the Warranty Policy.
3.8 Storage
Whenever practical, park indoors or in shaded areas to reduce UV exposure and extend wrap life.
4. Definitions
Contaminants include bird droppings, bug residue, tree sap, road salt, industrial fallout, fuel, and similar substances that may damage vinyl if left on the surface.
5. Responsibilities
Vinylize Wraps will provide aftercare guidance. Customers are responsible for following this Aftercare & Maintenance Policy after delivery.
6. Limitations
Damage resulting from improper washing, abrasive products, unauthorized repairs, neglected contaminants, or failure to follow this Aftercare & Maintenance Policy is not covered under the Vinylize Wraps Warranty Policy.
